Behind every dramatic swing, sharp turn, and thunderous boundary is a piece of art engineered by hand. Our leather cricket balls aren’t just manufactured; they are meticulously born through a time-honored process passed down through generations of skilled craftsmen.
Here is a look inside the workshop to see how master artisans transform premium leather into a professional-grade match ball.
It all starts with premium, high-grade animal hide. The leather is carefully tanned, conditioned, and dyed—traditionally into classic cherry red, vibrant white, or high-visibility pink—to ensure lasting durability and moisture resistance.
Artisans use precision dies to cut the leather into uniform, curved sections. For a premium four-piece ball, four separate quarters are cut and wrapped around inner cork layers to form two perfect hemispheres (cups).
The heart of the ball is a tightly wrapped core made of compressed cork and high-quality wool yarn. This core determines the ball’s weight, balance, and bounce consistency. The leather cups are then enclosed tightly over this core.
This is where true mastery shines. An artisan uses thick, wax-coated thread to stitch the central seam entirely by hand. A standard match ball requires around 75 to 80 internal stitches and a beautifully raised external seam of up to 80 visible stitches. This gives bowlers their crucial grip and swing.
The stitched ball is placed into a mechanical vice mold to compress it into a flawless sphere. Finally, it is meticulously buffed, branded with gold foil embossing, and coated with a protective layer of lacquer for that signature shine.
From the very first over to the grueling final spell, greatness belongs to those who control the leather. Our balls are meticulously engineered from premium alum-tanned leather, hand-stitched to perfection to ensure the seam stays proud, the shine remains resilient, and the shape never falters. Designed to cut through the air and bite off the wicket, it brings unmatched precision to every bowler’s hand. Experience the evolution of durability and performance, crafted for champions who refuse to compromise on quality.
Perfect if your brand wants to lean heavily into heritage, history, and the traditional roots of the game.
